The problem was this: I wanted to hire a bear costume for the BIG launch of Daddy Fartypants. But, the hire company would only hire it out for a week and it was EXPENSIVE. There was only one thing for it. To justify the cost, I was going to have to find something to do with it for the extra six days.
So, I put of on my advertising head (I keep it under my bed for emergencies of this kind) and wrote some silly adverts for Father's Day (which was coming up). To say I got a bit carried away would be an understatement.
With the help of a slightly reluctant husband I filmed and I filmed. And then I cheekily asked some music composer friends of mine (big shout out to the wonderful MPM) to compose me some silly tunes, and called upon the whistling skills of my dear agent (James Catchpole) to create some background tracks.
I spent about a week in a dark basement, editing and re-editing, until I emerged with a bunch of films. Here are two of my favs.
I hope they go someway to prove the saying , 'when life gives you lemons, make lemonade'.
