Dance mouse, dance!

'Could you create series of images of Stix running?' said the email from my publisher, 'We'd like to create a flick-book style animation of him at the bottom of some of the pages'.
'Of course' I replied and set to work. Three long days and many, many drawing later, I'd created four short pieces of animation. You see that's how I work. I start off doing a small task, I find it interesting and exciting and I just can't stop. I convince myself it's time well spent - not wasted. In this instance I told myself: a) I am honing my mouse drawing skills b) I'm figuring out how to use iMovie to create basic animation c) I am sure I will find a use for the films when the time to launch the book comes.
I have no idea if any of these excuses warranted the time I spent, but I did REALLY enjoy myself. And I guess, after all is said and done, that is probably the best reason of all.
